Making the most of social media
Tweet your way to the top
GradsKent has been working with other regional graduate support services to look at ways that you can use social media to help you in the job market. At the moment, it's difficult for recruiting companies to know where to begin when searching through all the people who are looking for jobs, so we're coming together to encourage you to use a new hashtag: #GradJobSeeker. Use it in your tweet, and then list your location and the sector you want to work in. We hope that this will make it easier for employers to find you. And don't forget to follow @GradsKent!
If Twitter's not your thing, have you ever thought about using LinkedIn? This is a professional take on Facebook - it enables you to list your career and education history, show your aspirations, and start joining groups that might interest you. To get you started, we recommend the 'Kent' group, which has a range of local employers, news stories and events.
